Carriage House Comox Valley Starter Home

Carriage house Comox Valley the “The Starter Home.”

“The Starter Homer” was the name of this project because when the owner of this property was having to make decisions about what is important to me long term he chose to grow into his property. They knew buying this property that they wanted land and knew as their family would grow they could then look at building the forever home and maybe use this carriage house in the comox valley as an income stream. It also greatly increased the bare land property value by having a dwelling on it.  We then started our Pre Construction contract so we were able to start to understand together how we would build out this project to work with the budget. This part of the project is key “Pre Construction” what this does is give the opportunity to formulate a plan and start to understand each other more. It is much cheaper to plan this out on paper than it is in the “field” or when the project is under construction. We worked together to discuss options for material selections and the durability of different materials for the purpose of the building. We are also taking the time to understand the structure of the building and how the building’s mechanical systems will work as well as the building envelope.

Appreciation of Land

Vancouver Island has a strong real estate market, with property values that have historically appreciated over time. By building a starter home in the Comox Valley on the bare land, they would have the potential to see a return on your investment as the property value increases over time. Of course, there are no guarantees in the real estate market, but building a new home on Vancouver Island is generally considered a smart investment. Understanding that the available land on Vancouver Island is getting less and less they decided to go for more land on there long term investment over the size of the carriage house.
